I grew up in a small town in southeast Arkansas called DeWitt, and after I graduated I went
to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville for a year and a half before marrying a
Danish man named Bryon Speller and moving to Copenhagen, Denmark.
It's a very COLD place and very, very dark in the winter time. As in the sun goes down at 3 pm and doesn't come up again until around 10 AM the next day. So in my spare time, I learned Danish and wrote the novel Dana of the Whispering Wood, which I am in the process of trying to sell to some lucky publisher. As you can imagine, I got tired of the cold and dark and made my husband move me home to Fayetteville where I finished my degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. During my time at the U of A I worked part-time as a Computer Lab Operator, and I still work in the computer industry. In October of 2005, I had the world's cutest, sweetest and probably most spoiled
baby boy, Nicholai Alexander Speller. He keeps me remarkably busy but lately I've actually
had time to squeeze some writing in. Now it's just a matter of getting it sold. |
