I grew up in a small town in southeast Arkansas called DeWitt, and after I graduated I went
to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville for a year and a half before marrying a
Danish man named Bryon Speller and moving to Copenhagen, Denmark.
It's a very COLD place and very, very dark in the winter time. As in the sun goes down at 3 pm and
doesn't come up again until around 10 AM the next day. So in my spare time, I learned Danish and wrote
the novel Dana of the Whispering Wood, which I am in the process of trying to sell to some lucky publisher.
As you can imagine, I got tired of the cold and dark and made my husband move me home to
Fayetteville where I finished my degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. During my time
at the U of A I worked part-time as a Computer Lab Operator, and I still work in the computer industry.

baby boy, Nicholai Alexander Speller. He keeps me remarkably busy but lately I've actually
had time to squeeze some writing in. Now it's just a matter of getting it sold.
